My name is Hyoun Park and I'm the research analyst for Telecom and Unified Communications at the Aberdeen Group. My research is focused on two separate paths: Telecom Lifecycle Management and Unified Communications.
In the Telecom Lifecycle Management path that this blog is devoted to, I explore the management strategies and tools that companies are using to manage telecom expense management, wireless expense management, telecom inventory management, telecom procurement, telecom contract management, mobile device management, and wide area network (WAN) mapping. Based on these asset, invoice, and strategic management tools, my research shows how optimal strategies can lead to easier implementation and support of the broad scope of communications including cloud computing, virtualization, mobility, unified communications, video, and other emerging communications and collaboration applications as well as the traditional telecom world of PBX, cell phone and smartphone deployments.
Prior to my time in the Aberdeen Group, I spent the last eight years in a variety of enterprise telecom departments and telecom resellers either sending out the bills, editing the bills, receiving the bills, auditing the bills, or challenging the bills, so I've definitely seen the expense and inventory issues that both vendors and customers have seen from just about every angle. It's exciting to get to use that background now to compare, contrast, and improve spend management practices for Telecom Lifecycle Management providers, telecom vendors and telecom customers.
I look forward to discussing some of the issues that currently affect the world of Telecom Lifecycle Management.Though I hope to help elucidate some of the issues and challenges of the TLM world through this blog, the posts that I share here are solely my own opinion and the views and opinions expressed on this site do not reflect those of the Aberdeen Group.
